The DNS propagation usually takes several minutes to go into effect, but depending on your service provider, it can take up to 72 hours to be applied worldwide. You can check your domain status here.
If you have existing records linked to your domain, make sure to remove the domain prefix, www and/or @, for the CNAME or A type records. If your domain is connected correctly, the records ensure website security.
However, if you have different IP addresses, your domain will be pointed to another address, which can lead the site visitor to another website. Removing the domain usually take several minutes, but can take up to 24 hours to process.
!Note: If you purchase your domain through Harness, your records are automatically set up for your domain, so you won't need to remove any existing records.
The domain setup process differs from one domain registrar to another, so we have provided generic instructions for those with GoDaddy, Google Domains, and Namecheap accounts.
If you're still not sure how to update the records, we recommend contacting your registrar's support.
If you're still having difficulty or don't want to do it yourself, click on the Send Instructions option. Then, provide the developer you'll be in contact with your DNS records. This all can be accomplished without granting access to your site's Edit Mode.
